Stress
Stress is the cause and / or major factor of disease and prolonged illness. Acupuncture reduces cortisol, or the stress hormone, that increases during times of stress. It also brings the body from a sympathetic (stress) state to a parasympathetic (relaxation) state. Stress manifests in various ways, and by treating the root problem, we can fix many symptoms associated with the problem.
Sleep
Sleep is vital for clearing waste from the brain, repairing cells, supporting learning and memory, and controlling the body’s use of energy. Acupuncture stabilizes this natural circadian rhythm, which can affect metabolism, hormones, mood, memory and many functions of the body.
Mood
Serotonin and Dopamine are neurotransmitters in the brain that affect mood, sleep, and behavior. Acupuncture stimulates the release of these important chemical messengers to help you feel good and regulate your body’s natural rhythm’s.
Energy
We see the body as interconnected energetic system. When all avenues, which we call meridians, are open, there is unobstructed flow and all organ systems work well. If there is disruption in the meridian, that is when symptoms arise. By stimulating certain points along these meridians, we can restore proper energy flow which helps every system in the body.
Immunity
A study hypothesizes acupuncture’s effect on the immune system is by stimulating the body’s NK (natural killer) cells which endogenously induce anti-cancer immune function.
Cancer Care
Acupuncture is a safe and effective way to treat the side effects of chemo and radiation including pain, nausea, and fatigue, as well as support the whole body for immunity and wellness.
